Distinctive delicate Yohji frames with fluted gear-like detail to arms...

Another extremely delicate but solidly made Yohji design (his range was manufactured only in Japan during less than a decade in the eighties by the firm Murai, and these finer guauge frames usually made from titanium for strenght)with distinctive little fluted column/gear-like details to the arms which also recall fine Victorian tools/instruments. Although this colour is sold out now (sorry, bought the last pair), it is available in another similar colour, and there are other designs that have the fine, light feel. Although there are similarities to Jean Paul Gaultier's steam punk frame designs also from the eighties, Yohji's were always far more subtle and restrained, as in the majority of his work in his clothing label. Yohji frames are getting increasingly difficult to find, so get them while they're still available.
